The location is superb. Only a few minutes walk from the train station and also super close to the must-see places in Nara. Also it is in a really quiet street so is a very peaceful stay. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need in them for a great stay. You even get a free breakfast of a drink, slice of awesome toast and a little side salad. Also the price is really good for this place, probably our favourite stay on our Japan trip.

Location: The location of the hotel is great, being situated just a 2-min walk north of Kintetsu-Nara Station. It's located in the northern part of the Higashimuki Shopping Street, with tons of cute cafés, local restaurants, traditional arts & crafts shops, and bookstores surrounding it. Due to this location it's of course also very close to the entire Nara Park complex, including Kasuga-taisha and Todai-ji, as well as a few museums. Still, even with this central location, it felt very quiet and definitely less crowded than the portion of Higashimuki Shopping Street that's south of Kintetsu-Nara Station. Room: The room was very neat and clean. The refrigerator is sufficient and the bathroom is very nice, providing you with all the necessary essentials. The bed was comfortable and I honestly fell asleep on it for the entire afternoon, as soon as we arrived at the hotel room. Breakfast: As for the included breakfast, you get a breakfast coupon for the morning, with hotel staff also asking you about your preferred time for breakfast. When you go downstairs to the café portion of the lobby, you simply hand over your breakfast coupon and in return receive your choice of breakfast set, which allows you to change a few variables such as what topping to enjoy on your thick toasted bread or what drink you'd like. The breakfast set was fairly minimal, but still good and filling. The Bakery Hotel also has two other Chateau D'or locations, which are solely café/bakeries. We went to eat at one of their locations for lunch and enjoyed their pizza lunch deal, which was pretty good. We didn't personally try the baked goods at the two bakery locations, but they looked and smelled fantastic each time we walked past them.

The complimentary breakfast offers a delicious selection of fresh options. I particularly enjoyed the welcome cookies provided in the room - a sweet touch! Their coffee service is excellent, with rich flavor and perfect brewing. One standout feature was the advanced lighting system. The multi-functional remote allows you to: Switch between warm/cool lighting tones Activate night mode Adjust brightness levels This innovative system proved especially convenient after long days of exploring, eliminating the need to get up to adjust lights.

We had a wonderful stay here! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The Japanese Western-style breakfast was a standout — absolutely delicious, and a great way to start the day. The hotel is in an ideal location, perfect for sightseeing and traveling around Nara. Nara Park is just a short walk away, and it's definitely worth a visit. The area is very peaceful, though do note that after 10 pm, things quiet down quite a bit, so if you're looking for nightlife or a party scene, this might not be the best choice for you. As for the room, while it was comfortable, it did feel a bit dated. There was a constant draft, which wasn’t too bothersome, but could become an issue in colder weather. The TV was small, and the toilet was a bit cramped, but the AC worked well, and the shower was just fine. One highlight was the roof terrace with its lovely view, perfect for relaxing. The cafe downstairs offered a variety of excellent menu options, and everything we tried was tasty. Overall, this hotel is great if you plan to spend most of your time out exploring Nara. While some aspects of the room could use a refresh, the warm service, great location, and tasty food made for a great stay. Would definitely recommend!

I recently stayed at the Bakery Hotel Chateau D'or in Nara and had a delightful experience. The hotel'slocation, just steps away from Kintetsu Nara Station, made it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. Upon arrival, the accommodating staff kindly stored our luggage early in the morning, allowing us to begin our sightseeing without delay. We even had the opportunity to participate in tea ceremony that morning, which felt like a lovely welcoming addition. Our room was simple yet equipped with all the necessary amenities, providing a quiet and comfortable retreat after a day of exploration. A delightful surprise awaited us in the form of complimentary cookies from the hotel's own bakery. Breakfast featured a delicious toast set, with freshly baked bread and a peaceful atmosphere to start the day. Overall, the combination of the hotel's convenient location, friendly staff, and thoughtful amenities made our stay both enjoyable and worthwhile. I would highly recommend the Bakery Hotel Chateau D'or to anyone visiting Nara.

My stay at Bakery Hotel was a delightful experience from start to finish. The rooms at Bakery Hotel are incredibly spacious, providing ample room to relax and unwind. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a rejuvenating night's sleep after a day of exploring the city. One of the standout features of Bakery Hotel was undoubtedly the shower. It's not often that a hotel shower exceeds expectations, but the water pressure and temperature control were perfect, creating a truly refreshing experience. The staff at Bakery Hotel were another highlight of my stay. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. Whether it was providing local tips or ensuring my comfort during breakfast, their warmth added a personal touch to the stay. Speaking of breakfast, Bakery Hotel excels in this department as well. The breakfast spread was delicious and varied, featuring freshly baked goods that complemented the bakery theme perfectly. Overall, Bakery Hotel exceeded my expectations with its spacious rooms, comfortable beds, amazing showers, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast. It's a gem of a hotel that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Nara for a memorable and cozy stay.

The location and room were pretty good. The room we got was big enough. We rented 2 bikes from the hotel and it was very smooth.

Nice hotel ideally located on a quiet pedestrian street 2 minutes from metro station and 8 from Nara park. Good size tatami floor room (superior double), terrace on the roof, continental breakfast (would be nice to have a choice of Japanese breakfast). Craft beer and sparkling sake available at the reception. English spoken. The bakery of the same name a few minutes away has good pastry and other salted choices.

The room with queen size bed in a Japanese style was very nice and had even a small couch. Quite big size for a single room. Very convenient to visit the town and the main attractions by foot. Very close to Kintetsu Railway Station. Even if it is was not mentioned, the room comes with a very tasty breakfast. Friendly staff. Lost my room key the very first day and for just 1000 yen it was no problem to get a new one.

The breakfast service was nice and quick and the meal itself while not the biggest, was still satisfying enough and the lady handling all of the orders was lovely and greeted you with a friendly smile even while under peak rush hour. There were a large variety of restaurants nearby to chose from, and you were also a 5-10 min walking distance away from the Nara deer park! The room was definitely sizeable enough for someone traveling solo, and there being a bathtub bathroom was welcoming surprise for sure!
