We had a wonderful stay here! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The Japanese Western-style breakfast was a standout — absolutely delicious, and a great way to start the day. The hotel is in an ideal location, perfect for sightseeing and traveling around Nara. Nara Park is just a short walk away, and it's definitely worth a visit. The area is very peaceful, though do note that after 10 pm, things quiet down quite a bit, so if you're looking for nightlife or a party scene, this might not be the best choice for you. As for the room, while it was comfortable, it did feel a bit dated. There was a constant draft, which wasn’t too bothersome, but could become an issue in colder weather. The TV was small, and the toilet was a bit cramped, but the AC worked well, and the shower was just fine. One highlight was the roof terrace with its lovely view, perfect for relaxing. The cafe downstairs offered a variety of excellent menu options, and everything we tried was tasty. Overall, this hotel is great if you plan to spend most of your time out exploring Nara. While some aspects of the room could use a refresh, the warm service, great location, and tasty food made for a great stay. Would definitely recommend!

My stay at Bakery Hotel was a delightful experience from start to finish. The rooms at Bakery Hotel are incredibly spacious, providing ample room to relax and unwind. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a rejuvenating night's sleep after a day of exploring the city. One of the standout features of Bakery Hotel was undoubtedly the shower. It's not often that a hotel shower exceeds expectations, but the water pressure and temperature control were perfect, creating a truly refreshing experience. The staff at Bakery Hotel were another highlight of my stay. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. Whether it was providing local tips or ensuring my comfort during breakfast, their warmth added a personal touch to the stay. Speaking of breakfast, Bakery Hotel excels in this department as well. The breakfast spread was delicious and varied, featuring freshly baked goods that complemented the bakery theme perfectly. Overall, Bakery Hotel exceeded my expectations with its spacious rooms, comfortable beds, amazing showers, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast. It's a gem of a hotel that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Nara for a memorable and cozy stay.

I recently stayed at the Bakery Hotel Chateau D'or in Nara and had a delightful experience. The hotel'slocation, just steps away from Kintetsu Nara Station, made it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. Upon arrival, the accommodating staff kindly stored our luggage early in the morning, allowing us to begin our sightseeing without delay. We even had the opportunity to participate in tea ceremony that morning, which felt like a lovely welcoming addition. Our room was simple yet equipped with all the necessary amenities, providing a quiet and comfortable retreat after a day of exploration. A delightful surprise awaited us in the form of complimentary cookies from the hotel's own bakery. Breakfast featured a delicious toast set, with freshly baked bread and a peaceful atmosphere to start the day. Overall, the combination of the hotel's convenient location, friendly staff, and thoughtful amenities made our stay both enjoyable and worthwhile. I would highly recommend the Bakery Hotel Chateau D'or to anyone visiting Nara.

It certainly met my dreamy story-book notion of living on top of a Japanese bakery! It is a small boutique inn located along a charming pedestrian street lined with a few other cozy little cafes & shops selling souvenirs & pretty art pieces. We enjoyed the complimentary cookies & the simple breakfast of salad & a thick slice of pillowy shokupan bread with your choice of scrambled eggs, strawberry jam or red beans. Location is ideal - about 2-3 minutes walk from the Nara Kintetsu train station & a 20-minute walk from the Nara Deer Park. Once you step through the squeaky entrance door into the warmth of the cozy lobby & dining area, you are greeted by friendly staff who can speak English. While the room is basic, it is clean, cheerful, comfortable & big enough to fit our family of 4 with 4 carry-on luggage opened up. We also appreciated the luggage storage service & being able to borrow the hotel umbrellas, so that after check-out, we could further spend our slightly rainy day exploring beautiful Nara.

The breakfast service was nice and quick and the meal itself while not the biggest, was still satisfying enough and the lady handling all of the orders was lovely and greeted you with a friendly smile even while under peak rush hour. There were a large variety of restaurants nearby to chose from, and you were also a 5-10 min walking distance away from the Nara deer park! The room was definitely sizeable enough for someone traveling solo, and there being a bathtub bathroom was welcoming surprise for sure!
